Living, eating and moving well isn’t complicated or some strange formula that you need to wrap your head around. It needn’t be overwhelming or involve extreme measures and weekly weigh-ins.
I now have a very simple wellness philosophy:
Live, eat and move according to what feels the most nourishing in each moment.
- Make mindful and nourishing choices daily
- Tune into and listen to your body’s cues
- Look after your physical, mental and emotional health with presence and joy
This isn’t about the next diet to follow, food to cull from your kitchen or soul-sucking exercise routine. It’s a holistic approach to real wellness - the kind that nourishes your body, without sacrificing your sanity.
Here you’ll find guidance on making nourishing choices, building healthful habits and self-care rituals, and food sanity.
I believe that food should be enjoyed. We crave pleasurable experiences, and food is no exception. Our relationship to food is just as important as the food we put in our mouths, which is why I'm not a fan of labelling foods as inherantly 'good', 'bad', or 'clean'. I simply love whole foods that are naturally nutritious so that's what I eat most of the time.
I don't subscribe to any particular diet or regime because I don't like diet dogma and we all need something slightly different to thrive. It's important to take a personalised approach, but I do believe that most people feel the benefits of local, (mostly) organic, plant-strong whole foods prepared with love. Real food.
And, then maybe the odd slice of cake for good measure. Balance, people. Do your best, enjoy the rest.
